**UPDATE**


Lucas's condition is improving. His surgery was a success and, despite the loss of his leg he should make a complete physical recovery.

The doctors told me just about an hour ago that Lucas had a massive concussion and there were contusions on both frontal lobes in his brain and a few on the back of his brain. The changes this will bring to his life have not yet been recognized.

He will recover from the concussion, but the contusions looked pretty bad. He has lost his normal speech pattern and adopted a stutter, that the doctors said could either disappear with time or stay for the rest of his life.

Among the other new attributes already noted to Lucas's personality are a sweet little grin that he has used a few times when feigning sleep, and when agitated he tends to make a fist at his chest and rub his thumb across the knuckle of his forefinger.Instead of becoming arrogant when embarrassed now he grows quite and shrinks away. (He expressed this when the nurses came in to change his dressings this morning...It made my heart hurt.)

AT 10:30 p.m. Lucas became aware of the fact his left leg was missing. This was a frightening and painful realization I could tell, because he looked up at me in utter disbelief and horror, made a little whimpering sound and collapsed onto my shoulder in sobs. It pains me to write this because unlike you who are reading this I can SEE the anguish in his eyes. My heart breaks every time he looks at me.

After he fell asleep the first night(last night) I sat up and cried for hours on end and I am doing the same tonight.

I never knew that this would happen to my friend. That his life would be so drastically altered so quickly. I never would have guessed that his future would be so uncertain.

It will be a long and difficult road, but at least now the hard part is over, we have taken the first steps, now all we have to do is wait and pray that everything will turn out the way we would like it to. With Lucas safe, healthy, well, and able to cope with this tragedy.

Tomorrow is another day, I just hope it brings us good news.

More Information
I called Lucas's mom at about noon and asked her for news. She stayed calm and told me that they were having problems with his leg. Then she broke down and it took 20 more minutes of her sobbing in my ear for me to piece together the following information on his condition.

At 3 or 330 P.M. The doctors are, in an effort to save Lucas's life, going to amputate his leg. I am going to go to be with his mother at about 2. I can only imagine what they are going through right now.

And I shudder to think what Lucas must be feeling...

From what I can gather about the accident when the car went up under the truck the driver's seat was forced backward ontop of Lucas's legs...And because of what I know about how he sits in the back seat of a car this crushed his leg... But I am not a forensics expert, nor am I a doctor so all I know is that my friend will loose his leg at 3...

I have to go now or I am going to start to cry again and I'm afraid this time I won't be able to stop.

Death of Five* Fellows

At about 11:30 p.m. on January 16 2006 there was a carcrash about three miles from where I live. Involved in this crash were a Black F-150, a white Toyota, and a green Neon.

In the Truck were David and Kevin, in the white car was Greg, Matt, Eddy, and Nicholas. And in the green car were Seth, Jenny, Emily, Lucas (MENTIONED IN TGMWSA), and Chad.

The accident occured because the lead automobile, the white car hit a deer, which caused the car to veer off the road and into the ditch. The truck slammed on the breaks and was rear ended by the green car and the green car was forced under the rear of the truck.

The passenger in the white car, Matt, was killed. The passenger, driver and one of the occupants of the green car were killed, and one other died when the car caught on fire. Seth, Chad, and Emily died in the accident and Jenny died when the car caught onfire. Lucas was airlifted to the hospital and I have no further word on his condition.

The driver and surviving passengers of the white car were taken to the hospital via ambulance and are being held for observation.

The driver and passenger of the truck were taken to the hospital and relaesed shortly after.

As soon as I can find pictures of my friends that died tonight I will post them.

I write this tonight knowing that alcohol was a factor in this accident.

It has got to stop.

If you have been drinking or have a friend who has been drinking do not let them drive, and do not let yourself drive.

Don't become a statistic. Hand the keys over and live.

I will post more as I find out more.

Please pray for Lucas. He needs all the help he can get.

The Stupid College Boys and The Grand Mid-Winter Streaking Adventure
This all started on Friday the 13th january 2006. My friend Lucas was sitting in his room talking to one of his close friends over the internet when he got a knock on the door to his dorm room.

Now Lucas is not the brightest of the bunch, so he decided to invite them in!

And here is where it gets interesting. Lucas's friend he was talking to on the internet just so happens to be one of my friends. So while Lucas was off line taking shots with his three visitors I was being chatted up by his abandoned friend.

About 10 or 15 minutes into our conversation I hear a noise in the street outside my window and STUPID ME!!! I look out the window with the intention of yelling something profane to the people below- and LOW-AND-BEHOLD! There is Lucas, Drunk as a monkey with six or seven of his other burly man-type friends in the back parkinglot ... Every single one of them striping down.

I rush back to the computer and tell my friend what I saw then, abandoning him I rush to my room and get my camera.

By the time I get downstairs and to the back of the building there are quite a few naked men running around. So I proceed to snap pictures of the unwitting college boys while they run and prance about in what I can only guess to be some sort of weird Frat initiation or something of the like.

After about 7 minutes I realize that I had abandoned my friend on the internet. And hearing the approaching Campus Security I bolt back inside and am confronted with a number of naked men, INCLUDING LUCAS, wearing various boxes as clothing.

As soon as Lucas sees me he makes an enausiated face and I snap yet another picture before running redfaced back to the computer where I quickly appologize to my friend and relay the entire story. Secretly downloading the pictures to place herein.

Yet, as much as I want to I cannot place most of the pictures on this site, but for humiliation purposes I will place the picture I took of Lucas and his friends because nothing more than a bare chest and a leg are showing.
